Bio
Sachi Srivastava is a Master’s student in the Graduate Group in Ecology at the University of California, Davis. She works in the Safford Vegetation and Fire Ecology Lab, where her thesis research focuses on high-elevation forests in the Sierra Nevada, examining tree growth, health, and spatial dynamics in relation to fire and climate.
She previously conducted an honors thesis at Cornell University on soil respiration and carbon fluxes in Northeastern forests, and has additional experience in conservation genomics, climate-smart agriculture, and community-based food systems. Beyond research, Sachi is passionate about science communication and community engagement, with involvement ranging from climate justice organizing to science outreach.
