Event Date
The Southwest Fire Science Consortium, Arizona Wildfire Initiative, and the Association for Fire Ecology are hosting the 4th Southwest Fire Ecology Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico from November 18-22, 2024. Our conference will bring together professionals to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and discuss the latest advancements in fire ecology research and management with a focus on the southwestern United States. With the theme, The Southwest Fire Science Journey: Lessons from the Rearview, New and Unfamiliar Routes, and Promising Horizons, we seek to gain a better understanding of the past, present, and future of fire in the Southwest. Join us for a unique opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and engage in stimulating discussions that will shape the future of fire ecology in this region.
Two people from our laboratory will participate in this congress:
- Rut Domenech will present "Do we need to increase the intensity of prescribed fires to effectively modify the forest structure?" on Thursday, November 21 in the Lumpkins South room.
- Tessa Putz will have a poster titled "How does prescribed fire influence yellow pine persistence potential across California?" at the Poster Session, Lumpkins Ballroom, 4:00pm to 5:30pm
